[Notice published in The Villager September 2023]
There are large-scale maps of Holywell-cum-Needingworth going right back to 1764, and I have had grants to help put them online. We can now see how every bit of land in our village has changed over the years. For example, I discovered that where my house is now was part of a field called “Town Close” in 1764 – and that surprised me.
If you would like to see how your land or street (or indeed anywhere in the village) has changed over the years, then I would be very happy to spend a little time looking at the maps with you. (This is all free as I love talking about our history, and especially looking in detail at old maps!)
