To use hcnhistory.org.uk in a basic way you do not need to be logged into an account. However, to use the site fully you do need to be logged in to TWO accounts – called TNG and WP. This is for technical reasons and frees us to publish more information more freely.
If you want to view people information you need to be logged into a TNG account. If you want to see certain other protected information on the site then you need to be logged into a WP account. For both types of account, you can log in as the default user ‘guest‘ with the password also ‘guest‘, and this is recommended. If you want to set up your own TNG and/or WP accounts then feel free to do so (but this has not been tested).
When you try to view something that requires you to be logged in, the system will prompt you. If you want to log in before being required to do so then use these menu items under My Accounts:
- My TNG Account – login to a TNG account (to access information about People), or logout, register etc
- My WP Account – login to a WP account (to access restricted pages other than People), or logout, register etc
