A couple of years ago I volunteered to look at how we in the Society for One-Place Studies (of which I am a member) might use maps and mapping systems to help with our One-Place Studies (OPS). As part of this I have created a forum (mapping4ops.org) into which I and others are putting our thoughts, ideas, experiences and desires – all on using mapping in one-place studies.
I have also created a prototype system (M4OPS) to enable people studying a place to overlay maps of all types over the top of each other. I have used our village of Holywell with Needingworth as an example, and added this as a page on this website – so there are lots of maps you can look at there.
