Christenings for 1668 - click for a zoomable version in a new tab
I am pleased to be able to announce that, following my earlier post announcing the work, I have now completed the digitising and transcribing of the Holywell-cum-Needingworth Parish Registers, and have published them on this website. The images are reproduced by kind permission of Huntingdon Library and Archives, and Holywell-cum-Needingworth Parochial Church Council. The transcription reports are my copyright, but they are free for you to download in PDF format for personal use. Note that there will be errors and disputed transcriptions, and no warranty of their accuracy is implied.

The other major change in this update is a new mechanism for enlarging images – incorporating a zoom mechanism more often used for manipulating maps. As an example you can see this by clicking on the above image.

You can find the Parish Registers here (under the "Sources" menu), and more details here.

Please note that:

  • The transcriptions do not yet include the few non-genealogical items, such as accounts and notes.
  • The transcriptions still need to be more thoroughly checked, and the insights from handwriting experts taken into account.
  • The data from the Parish Register transcriptions has not yet been analysed and transferred into the TNG pages (under the People menu).

These are my next priority.
